The middle-aged CD player…
The CD player has now been with us for a couple of decades.
The quality of the source materials and the players themselves
has dramatically improved in that time.
The addition of a high quality CD player can have a dramatic
impact on a system. The quality of electronics and high construction
values make players from companies such as Arcam, Rotel and
Marantz stand out in the market.
Like so many things middle-aged, the CD player is making
a bid for youth again with new formats. DVD-A and SACD
are taking time to establish themselves but several companies
now make players that allow to sit on the fence by playing
any disk you can throw at them.
